Reviews:

I have loved each and every week of my Dinner Club Wednesdays. The recipes were well suited to our capabilities as well as delicious. I have loved recreating the meals I have learned to prepare at home for my family, and they are all very impressed!

Thank you Karen! I have loved learning from you for the past 7 weeks and can’t wait to learn more in the future! Term 4 2020

I’m 10 and I’ve just done my 4th term. It's a amazing place to learn how to cook and meet new people. I’ve learnt that cooking isn’t always easy but I need to share the jobs. I also got chef of the term by being voted on 2 weeks for chef of the week. How it works is at the end of the lesson you pick someone who you think did really well that lesson, then you count up your votes and the person with the most gets chef of the week. Thank you Karen I had heaps of fun cooking and learning heaps from you Term 3 participant 2019

Dinner Club (mainstream) 7 week after-school programs.

Get the kids cooking at our popular meal-making, classes. Littlies cook from 4:00-5:30 pm Tuesdays (Grade 3-6) for 7 weeks or Biggies on Wednesdays 4:00-5:30 pm (Grade 6-9). Both groups make a wide range of dinners with fun themes and life-skills to learn along the way. Dinner Club Term 3 is OPEN for booking now. Please email Karen to book in or click on the link above.
Please note:

  • these inclusive groups are run at a medium to fast pace with 9 kids in the kitchen, if you require specific NDIS cooking classes (six kids maximum in class, less hectic pace) please find the information here

  • the portion of food made goes home with the children but is not enough for the whole family!

Fun weekly classes see kids interpreting recipes, prepping and cooking food as well as practicing kitchen skills with confidence in a safe, friendly and small group environment. Invest in their future and try us out, we can have them sampling a whole range of new foods and meals over the program.

Please read our Terms and Conditions to decide if this type of class is right for your child:

  • Behaviour expectations; respectful, kind, safe and inclusive.

  • Classes are held at a medium to fast pace with turn-taking and listening to instructions needed to participate.

  • The safety of everyone is very important: We walk safely around the room, work at our designated station, clean up spills to avoid slipping, use heat carefully and as instructed and walk carefully with tools such as knives pointing down to the floor.

  • These are stand-up lessons to replicate the reality of being a chef and move about easily in the kitchen space. Please note, the classroom can also accommodate one wheelchair user.

  • Aprons are only worn by one participant  (please feel free to bring your own), surfaces are regularly disinfected and hands are frequently washed and dried with single use paper towel.

  • Participants just need to bring 2 plastic containers and a drink bottle. They will take home all food made and students need to arrive 5 mins early with enclosed shoes on and long hair tied back.

  • Class sizes are always kept small to be uniquely hands-on with kitchen skills to practice individually and within a group of 3.

  • Dietary requirements must be disclosed at time of booking and please also request a vegetarian option at this time.

  • Classes are targeted at specific age ranges and the lessons are 'stop and drop' unless otherwise arranged.
